For the past four years, I have worked as an online tutor alongside my medical studies, supporting students across GCSE and A-level Maths and Sciences. Through this work, I have taught students from early secondary school through to examination years, with a particular focus on building subject confidence, exam technique, and independent learning skills.
Alongside subject tutoring, I have a good working knowledge of the UCAT and medical school interview process, gained through my own experience of applying to and entering medical school. While my primary experience is in subject tutoring, I am familiar with UCAT preparation strategies and interview formats, and enjoy advising students who are exploring medicine as a potential career path.
My teaching approach is highly student-centred and adaptable. I believe that no two learners are the same, so I tailor every lesson to suit the student’s individual learning style, pace, and goals. I place strong emphasis on building confidence, as I have found this to be key to long-term academic success.
Lessons are structured, engaging, and focused on both conceptual understanding and exam technique. I regularly use active questioning and feedback strategies to check understanding and ensure progress is being made. My aim is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them feel more confident and independent in their learning.
